This session aims to provide theoretical knowledge and practical experience to enable nurses in general practice to assist in COPD reviews in a safe, confident manner according to current standards and guidelines. It is also suitable for practice nurses who are new to respiratory care and wish to develop a basic understanding of COPD including related policies and guidelines and current evidence based diagnostic and treatment pathways

- an understanding of COPD and it’s phenotypes
- an introduction to diagnosing COPD and spirometry
- an overview of the treatments available for COPD including pharmacological and holistic approaches
- a strategy for ongoing care and monitoring of the COPD patient
