This training will combine Level 2 and Level 3 Safeguarding Adults course is to provide awareness and knowledge relating to safeguarding of vulnerable adults at risk, particularly in health and social care settings.  This update will also include L2 Updates.

This training will cover:

• Roles and Competencies for Health Care Staff 2019 intercollegiate document
• Adult safeguarding Care Act 2014
• Mental Capacity Act 2005 
• Domestic abuse act 2021

Draws on clinical and professional knowledge and expertise of what constitutes adult abuse, harm or neglect to support others in fulfilling their adult safeguarding duties. 

Course Content

• Why do we need to safeguard vulnerable adults
• The term safeguarding and its meaning
• The key legislation surrounding safeguarding and their legal responsibilities
• How to identify signs of abuse and the risk factors involved
• How to determine capacity
• How to respond to any concerns that they may have about a vulnerable adult
• How to act if information is disclosed to them by a vulnerable adult
• Safer recruitment procedures
• How to record and report concerns
• Referrals and social cares decision
• Applies lessons from case reviews
• Identifies risks and contributes to risk assessments
• Able to contribute to/formulate and communicate effective safeguarding plans for adults at risk of abuse, harm or neglect
